Fathers' Day

At the Emerson Haus, we spent Father's day enjoying the DSM production of Wicked.  It was a really good cast and we had a wonderful time.  Until next year, Happy Fathers' Day, Dad!  We Love you!

Summer with Molly

While Maggie continues to tromp around in the African Savanna, I remain in Texas with my barbri books and my littlest sister, Molly.  The other day we played around in the backyard:

She is still, of course, a bit slow-moving with that cast on her back leg.  Hopefully that is coming off soon and we can continue to have a lovely summer.

Update.

According to Mommy Laurie, Molly may or may not (but did) chew her way out of Cast #1.
Reminder: Molly is 16 years old.  I'd say that's quite a feat.
Anyway, Molly had to get a new cast today.  This one pretty much covers her whole leg.  And it's pink.  And it's going to be on for 3 weeks... which means I'll get to see it soon and be able to post better quality pictures of my poor little sister!!!
Apparently she's making a great recover and is now sporting a 'Snow White' sock over Pink cast so that she will not be able to chew through it so easily.
Stay Strong, Molly! I'll see you in a week and a half!

Poor Baby Molly :(

Molly is my precious, baby love, puppy-dog.  She's really like my third sister.  She just turned 16 years old on April 10.  We got her when I was nine.  Maggie was 4 when we got her- and now Maggie is a sophomore in college.
My dad sent this picture to my phone today- and I immediately called him to see what the what was on poor Molly's back leg.  Yup, that's a cast.  A teeny-tiny dog cast. And a bloody little paw.  Apparently Dad may or may not (but did) run over baby Molly's leg with his car.  She had a bloody little foot and was hobbling around, so they took her to the vet and Dr. Perky (yes, real name of our vet for the past 16 years) put a little cast on her leg to stabilize it because she probably sprained it.
I wish I could be with my little muffin right now!

UPDATE:
Dad just sent this e-mail to my sisters and me: It pretty much sums up (1) my dad (2) our relationship, and (3) his humor.

Subject: Molly Got in the Way
Here is a picture of mollys leg in a cast. She got behind my car this week as I was backing out and I hit her.  sorry girls. But dr perky feels she will fully recover.
Love dad. Happy saturday.

Love.

Maggie.

My sister, Maggie, is pretty much the coolest person I know.
She may be 5 years younger than me, but we absolutely communicate with similar heart, wisdom, and independence.  She's creative, loving, and just down-right awesome.  I'd love to go through the millions of things that make maggie "totes awes," but unfortunately articles 2 and 2A of the Uniform Commercial Code are calling my name.
I leave you all with a video my sister and I find absolutely hilarious...

Good Luck finishing up your last week of your sophomore year of college!  I can't wait to see you soon (well, not that soon... but you know...)
